Like a PC needs an Operating System a distributed RFID Infrastructure requires an RFID OPerating Environment.
You-R® OPEN is the OPerating ENvironment to tune, integrate, run and maintain RFID TUBEs. It provides an environment to manage distributed multi-site, multi-company RFID infrastructure. You-R® OPEN is tag and reader agnostic and supports the major RFID technologies and standards needed for RFID solutions. It includes Savant like functions and supports EPC as well as dot (data on tag). A key feature is the ease of integration into business process software and legacy systems.
You-R® OPEN makes RFID Process Management and Application Software operate independently of the RFID technology used or the device and Chip manufacturer. Savant like functions pre-process RFID and other device data. Additionally user programmed scenarios give high flexibility to the application oriented pre-processing and combination of multiple devices. Examples of such functions are: Get trigger from light barrier, read barcode, calculate ePC code, write ePC code to tag via RFID reader, report result to higher software layer and visualise it at a light stack. RFID Solutions without Process Management Software use You-R® OPENs direct interface to e.g. an ODBC database or Application Software. This leading RFID OPerating ENvironment has in addition to basic Edgeware functionality IT tools for the various project Phases (development, installation and deployment, operation, maintenance, upgrade).
In this way, distributed RFID infrastructure can be efficiently managed by You-R® OPEN certified system integrators or IT managers.
